Drive Catalog keeps a searchable list of your external drives. This page explains what it saves and what it never touches.

What we never read

A scan reads the names, sizes and dates of what is on a drive. Your videos, photos and projects are not opened, copied or uploaded.

What we save

The scan also adds one tiny hidden file to each drive, so the drive can be recognized after a rename. It holds only a random ID.

Signing in with Google

If you continue with Google, we receive your email address, your name and a Google account ID. We save the email address and the ID, and use them only to sign you in. We do not store your name, and we do not access your Google Drive, Gmail, contacts or any other Google data.

Cookies

We use one cookie to keep you signed in, and a short-lived one during Google sign-in. We do not use advertising or tracking cookies, and we do not use analytics tools.

How we use your data

We use your data only to run Drive Catalog for you. We do not sell it, and we do not use it for advertising.

Where it is kept

Your data is stored and served through Cloudflare, which hosts this service, and may be processed in several countries. Your browser also keeps a copy of your lists so search stays fast. Signing out removes that copy from the browser.

Keeping and removing your data

We keep your data while you have an account. Removing a drive deletes its list and photos. To delete your whole account, email us and we will remove it.
